Discover the Royal Museum for Central Africa

The Royal Museum for Central Africa is situated in Tervuren, near Brussels. The museum closed its doors on 1 December 2013 to carry out major renovations which will take place over three years. During this period of closure the museum will be continuing to offer activities for the public outside the walls of the Museum itself. Children and young people are welcome to attend the POP-UP workshops in central Brussels.

The Museum's collections comprise thousands of objects from Africa, mostly from Congo: art objects, animals, insects and much more. These objects are kept in the storage facilities, in large cabinets where they are protected from light, dust and insects. Teams of scientists preserve and study these collections. The Museum is therefore also a scientific institution.
